Reuben Jones

Reuben Jones is a producer, artist, poet, playwright, activist, entrepreneur, father, mentor, motivational speaker and educator. The original Philly Renaissance man. The Founder of Renaissance Media and Co-Founder and Director of Frontline Dads, he is a man with a vision and a passion for creative expression. Reuben loves people and poetry is his way of reaching out to the world to fight for change. Reuben was featured in the award winning documentary “Beyond The Walls”, and his narrative poem “Lemonade” was nominated for an award in Europe.

As a protege of Karen Taylor(Taylor Made Media), Reuben has worked with Jill Scott, Carol Riddick, Jeff Bradshaw and Jaguar Wright, to name a few. His performance and event hosting experience has allowed him to work with Sonia Sanchez, Ursula Rucker, Talaam Acey, Saul Williams, and The Last Poets. He has hosted “The Womb”, a spoken word/open mic in Philadelphia since 2003 and has also acted as guest host for Ebony Fitzhue on W.U.R.D.’s Love Supreme Live. Reuben produced the anti-violence single “A New Day”, featuring Philly artists raising thier voices against violence. And, he also produced his own debut cd, “BrothaBlackManBluesSong” as well as wrote, directed, and produced his own one-man show of the same title.

Since 2006, Reuben has been a member of the Philly Spoken Soul Tour. He also co-produced the “City Battle” along with Lady Adeena, which featured various cities competing in hip-hop, spoken word, and R&B for the title of most talented city. Reuben is currently engaged in a “Poets 4 Peace” initiative to help end urban street violence by introducing at-risk youth to the arts. He is also 1/6 of the Spoken Soul 215 collective which produces & hosts “The Harvest”.
